The Municipal Act, 2001 provides licencing authority to municipalities for the puropose of consumer protection and to promote the health and safety of the public. By-law 92-2022 regulates the licencing of refreshment vehicles within the Town of St. Marys.

The Town of St. Marys offers licences on an annual or daily basis.
Annual licences are valid for the calendar year in which the licence is issued. This term of licence is for refreshment vehicles that will be consistently providing services on a regular basis. The fees for an annual licence are:
Annual Fee (refreshment vehicles that are motorized and/or have food cooking/preparation facilities)
$360 per year
Annual Fee (refreshment vehicles that are non-motorized and sell prepackaged or iced products)
$180 per year
Daily licences are valid for one day and may be issued multiple times depending on the number of events a refreshment vehicle is operating in St. Marys. A daily licence is required for any refreshment vehicle that will not be present in the Town of St. Marys on a consistent basis. A daily licence fee is $80, however refreshment vehicles that exceed 4 daily licences will only pay fees up to a total of $360, additional licences will be issued without any further costs to the owner.
