Open Air Burn Permit Application Instructions

Please review the following instructions for completing, submitting and paying for your burn permit.

Step 1: Review the Open Air Burning By-law.

Step 2: Proceed to the application and enter all required information.

Step 3: Pay the $25 fee for your burn permit. Payment can be made online through this form, or in person. Payment does not guarantee that your application will be approved. You will be given a refund if your application is denied.

Step 4: Submit your burn permit application. You will receive a confirmation email that the application has been received.

Step 5: Your application will be reviewed. This can take up to two business days.

Step 6: You will receive an email to confirm that your application has been approved. Please save a copy of this email on your device or print a copy for your records. You will receive further instructions if your application is denied.

Important Information

  • You can only start burning once your application is approved.
  • Your burn permit is valid until December 31 of the current year. 
  • The permit holder must be the legal property owner or have written consent from the property owner.
